A 47-year-old male senior constable from Southern Region has been stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service and will be tasked to perform non-operational duties.

The officer is the subject of an investigation regarding unauthorised access to QPS information and inappropriate comments and remarks.

A 55-year-old male sergeant from the South Eastern Region has been stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service and has been tasked to perform non-operational duties.

Police officers in many  western countries now dress like paramilitaries.

Special police units are being trained and organised along military lines and issued with military-grade weapons.

In the US, that even means grenade launchers and tank-like vehicles for the local constabulary.

A WA police officer accused of corruption says she will "vigorously defend" the charge after facing court today.
 
Senior sergeant Christina Johnston attended Perth Magistrate's Court today charged with one count of a police officer acting corruptly.
The 42-year-old gave a brief statement as she left court, saying "I entered a plea of not guilty, and I look forward to vigorously defending this matter in court.

"I'm a proud police officer, I've given 21 years of service to the community of Western Australia and I would never do anything to tarnish the reputation of WA police."
The exact circumstances of the charge are unclear, but 9News understands the allegation relates to police office supplies.
9News has been told the business unit Christina Johnston was in charge of needed to cut back on costs.
